Made by me, photographed by Tim.
Kiri is the daughter of our associate conductor, Jim, and his wife Sarah (who is a trumpet player.). They asked if I would make a baptismal gown for Kiri.
The gown - 40 inches long!
The slip
(Alice wearing pants! Of her own volition!)
Here is a link to Jim and Sarah's blog with pictures of Kiri at her baptism.

How long did it take you to make this dress????? Probably longer than 2.5 hours? I was hoping I could see pictures after your mom told me about it. It's beautiful.
Thank you! Hahaha! Yes, it took MUCH longer than 2.5 hours. This one took closer to 100 hours. (The people on the receiving end of the dress really appreciated the work...) I learned a lot of new techniques making this dress. I'd never made a fully smocked bodice or done beading before and I'd never done any lace joining. I've completely fallen in love with heirloom sewing now and can't wait to make another one!
